Welcome to The Monroe http://www.The-Monroe.com/ , a living-learning community (LLC). By its very nature a LLC is interested in ideas and questions. Likewise, your goal of “higher education” at its best compels you to be open to experiences that grow your capacity to creatively engage other people and the world.
The Monroe, as a LLC, will promote five values that after consulting many students like you, we believe, will enhance your time at MSU and help you prepare for your future. Your participation is completely voluntary. We encourage you to pick and choose (or not) from the many opportunities offered by The Monroe. Give us feedback, become a part of The Monroe’s Community Committee that will shape what The Monroe will become and live your life.
UMHE's role is to serve as your advocate and to assist you in your journey. Later this year, UMHE will be celebrating its 50th anniversary at MSU. Throughout our history we have been a faithful voice for tolerance and understanding. We believe that the world needs your abilities, curiosity and intellectual capacity. Further, as progressive Christians, our faith experience leads us to believe that diversity of opinion, spirituality and lifestyle are valuable meeting points.
Best wishes,
Howard Cavner
